Materials:

  • 3 wine bottles, same color and size

  • 3 flowers, real or artificial, with stems, daisies work great

  • 3 copper brackets, with screws (found at Lowe’s)

  • Power drill, tape measure and hammer from Project Home

  • Decorative piece of wood, at least 18" long

  • Picture hanging brackets

  • Americana acrylic paint

  • Americana staining medium

  • Deco Art Patio Paint clear coat

  • Sponge brush

Use your hammer from Project Home to hammer 1 or 2 hanging brackets to the back of the decorative piece of wood.  You can leave the wood its natural color or paint it.  To give the wood a stained look, mix 1 part acrylic paint with 1 part staining medium, brush a very thin coat of the mixture onto the wood with the sponge brush, let it dry 30 minutes.  Seal the wood with the Patio Paint clear seal, let that dry 30 minutes.  Measure your decorative piece of wood so that you can place 3 pipe fitting brackets evenly spaced apart onto the wood.  Using your Project Home tools, screw one side of the bracket onto the wood.  Next, place the wine bottles onto the bracket and screw the other end down, this should hold it in place. Decorate with either a live flower or a silk flower by placing them into the top of the bottle, and enjoy.
